題目一：The boundary value problems for some discrete systems
内容簡介：In this talk, I will introduce some results on the positive solutions for some discrete two point nonlinear boundary value problems with the mean curvature operator by using critical point theory. First, some sufficient conditions on the existence of infinitely many positive solutions are given. We show that, the suitable oscillating behavior of the nonlinear term near at the origin and at infinity will lead to the existence of a sequence of pairwise distinct nontrivial positive solutions. Then, the existence of at least two positive solutions is established when the nonlinear term is not oscillatory both at the origin and at infinity. Examples are also given to illustrate our main results. We also discuss the existence of nontrivial solutions to the boundary value problems for a coupled system of second-order nonlinear difference equations at last.

題目二：Wolbachia in the wild mosquito population: The effects of wind and critical patch size
内容簡介：Releasing mosquitoes with Wolbachia into the wild mosquito population is becoming the very promising strategy to control mosquito-borne infections. To investigate the effects of wind and critical patch size on the Wolbachia establishment in the wild mosquito population, in this paper, we propose a diffusion reaction advection system in a heterogeneous environment. By studying the related eigenvalue problems, we derive various conditions under which Wolbachia can fully establish in the entire wild mosquito population. Our findings may provide some useful insights on designing practical releasing strategies to control the mosquito population.

報告人簡介：博士生導師，第十一屆廣東省人大代表，多年來一直從事離散系統、泛函微分方程及生物數學模型的理論與應用研究，在《J.Differential Equations》、《Journal of London Mathematical Society》、《Journal of Dynamics and Differential Equations》、《中國科學》等國際國内重要刊物上發表論文50多篇，其中SCI收錄30多篇。先後主持國家自然科學基金3項、參加國家自然科學基金重點項目1項、主持廣東省、湖南省自然科學基金各1項。作為主要骨幹，參加了國家重大基礎研究前期研究專項、國家自然科學基金、教育部高校博士點基金等多項科研項目。
