題  目：Cryptocurrency and Blockchain Technology: A Technical Introduction to the Basics

内容簡介：Since the public release of Bitcoin in 2009, over 1870 kinds of cryptocurrencies have been invented so far. Buzzwords like blockchain and smart contracts are used in technological and financial news articles every day. In this talk, we aim to demystify them by first introducing some technical building blocks of cryptocurrency such as Merkle hash tree, proof-of-work and proof-of-stake, blockchain, and smart contracts. Then we will focus on discussing three generations of cryptocurrencies: Bitcoin, Ethereum and IOTA and showing their working mechanisms and application scenarios. Finally, a few research issues  will be presented.

報告人：美國賓夕法尼亞州立大學  朱森存  副教授

報告人簡介：The Pennsylvania State University（PSU）計算機科學與工程系副教授。1996年獲得清華大學學士學位，1999年獲得中國科學技術大學碩士學位，2004年于George Mason University獲博士學位。 他于2004年成為PSU助理教授，并于2010年獲得終身教職。朱博士從事計算機網絡與系統安全領域的研究工作，迄今已在國際學術期刊和會議上發表論文超過100篇，論文被國際同行引用總共一萬次多次。2007年獲得美國國家科學基金會的CAREER Award, 2013年獲得Google Faculty Research Award. 他擔任過包括IEEE Securty&Privacy, ACM CCS, NDSS, ACM WiSec, ICDCS, INFOCOM等國際會議的程序委員會委員。
