内容簡介：We propose the so-called NetRec method in recommender system by incorporating the network information into collaborative filtering (CF). This results in a sharper error bound than previous literature under reasonable assumptions. It is also shown that the combination of the network-related penalty and the nuclear norm penalty gives better estimates than those achieved by any of them alone. The method has been shown to work well in simulations and some real data sets on Yelp. This is a joint work with X.S. Yu, T. Li, and N.C. Ning.

報告人簡介：荊教授于1993年在澳大利亞悉尼大學獲得統計學博士學位。現為香港科技大學數學系教授，統計科學中心主任，教育部“長江學者”講座教授，太阳集团app首页講座教授。他是國際統計學會 (ISI) 當選會員，泛華統計協會理事會主任 (ICSA Board Director)，以及《Journal of Business & Economic Statistics》 和 《Canadian Journal of Statistics》等五家國際學術期刊的副主編 (Associate Editor)，獲得了2010年度教育部高等學校科學研究優秀成果獎（自然科學）的二等獎；獲得2015年度國家自然科學獎二等獎。荊教授研究興趣廣泛，長期從事概率統計、機器學習與數據挖掘、金融經濟等領域的研究工作，并在概率統計國際期刊發表了百餘篇學術論文，被引用次數超過2000次，其中在 《The Annals of Statistics》，《The Annals of Probability》，《Journal of the American Statistical Association》等頂級期刊上發表20餘篇高水平學術論文。
