題  目：On Incompressible Inviscid Resistive MHD Surface Waves in 2D

内容簡介：In This talk I will present some studies on the effects of the magnetic diffusions on the motions of an ideal free Surface wave for 2-dimensional incompressible electrically conducting fluids. Such a problem is governed by the inviscid and resistive MHD system, and the effects of the surface tension on the free boundary are considered. We find a strong dissipation for the fluid vorticity due to the transversal magnetic field and thus are able to establish the global well-posedness of the free surface wave motion around an equilibrium. Some of the key ideas of the analysis will be presented. This is a joint work with Professor Yanjing Wang.

報告人簡介：香港中文大學數學系首席教授。主要學術兼職包括美國數學會會員、SIAM會員、《分析方法與應用》主編、《亞洲數學雜志》編委、《數學學報》編委、《SIAM Journal of Mathematical Analysis》編委、《Journal of Partial Differential Equations》編委、中國晨興研究中心學術委員會委員。主要研究領域涉及偏微分方程、流體動力學方程、非線性波、數值分析、應用數學等。主要在雙曲型守恒律、流體動力學和數值分析等研究方向取得了非常突出的成就，并在一維激波、高維激波、粘性激波、邊界層理論、可壓流體與不可壓流體方程和松弛格式等領域做出了具有國際影響的研究成果，均發表在國際頂尖的雜志上，受到國内外同行的廣泛關注。他的研究論文被多次引用，有的單篇被引用達200 餘次。由于他在其研究領域的突出成就，1991年4月獲得了美國“Sloan獎”（美國優秀博士後獎）， 1993年9月獲得了美國為傑出青年頒發的“美國總統獎”，2002年被邀請在國際數學家大會上做報告，2004年舉辦的“國際華人數學家大會”上獲得了 “晨興數學獎”（這是華人數學界的最高榮譽），2005年受聘教育部長江學者講座教授。
